Glór Tíre on TG4 is changing the selection process for the next series. Potential contenders have been invited to send in video clips to showcase their talent and style. PJ Reilly from Easkey will launch his new cd and dvd, Georgie’s Hall, in the Ocean Sands Hotel, Enniscrone, on 16 October. Guest performers include Frank McCaffrey, Eunice Moran, Sylvie and Deirdre, Kelly’s Heroes, Runaway Band, Michael Fox, Kevin Gorman and Pat’s Country Roadshow.

Ballinasloe-based David Maguire has extended thanks to the many people who sent him cards and messages of goodwill during his recent illness. David is now looking forward to doing some shows in early 2015. He has just released the single The Next Time I’m in Town, a song written by Mark Knopfler.

Joe Guerin from Ballydaly, Millstreet, has released his debut album. The young Cork man has two of his own songs on the 12-track collection. It was recorded and produced by Leo Fitzgerald. Joe plays the circuit in the Munster region.

A country gospel concert with James Kilbane will be held in Tiernea Church in Connemara on 18 October at 8pm. The show is in support of the fund for church repairs.

John Duggan has retired from Mid West Radio in Mayo. The Longford native and former member of An Garda Síochána was a regular on the radio for over 25 years. John has composed numerous popular songs over the years. We wish him all the best in his retirement.
