The North Leinster Hereford branch has renewed its calf-rearing photo competition for 2021.

Originally launched during the first lockdown in 2020, the competition was for all youngsters who wished to send in photos of themselves with their newborn Hereford calves.

It was aimed at highlighting the help small hands can be on farms during the busiest time of year.

The winner of last year's competition was Eddie Fitzgerald from Scarletstown Herefords in Kildare.

Eddie was crowned 'lockdown Hereford calf rearer 2020'.

Open to all

This time the competition is open to all young people – not just registered Hereford breeders.

Entrants should send photos of themselves with their Hereford or Hereford-cross calves to the North Leinster Hereford branch Facebook page.

Their photo will be available for the public to like and share.

The photo with the most likes will be crowned Hereford calf rearer 2021 and will win a prize.
