On Sunday 3 November, four friends from Co Clare are getting out of their comfort zones to run their first ever New York City marathon in an attempt to fundraise €20,000 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
The hospital caters for tens of thousands of children and money raised will go towards creating a less stressing environment for sick children and their families, purchasing new medical equipment, funding new research and developing new treatment facilities.

Melody’s farm from Bunratty, Co Clare, has sponsored a draw to help with the fundraising effort and has donated a Hereford heifer called Heidi as a prize in the draw.
The lucky winner of the heifer must have a farm.
However, if the chosen winner doesn’t have a farm, they will still receive a cash prize of €500.
Tickets can be purchased for just €5 each, with three tickets only costing €10.
