Bord na Móna held a machinery auction on 14 September, which saw a range of different machinery all surplus to requirement on offer.

Over 65 tractors were auctioned, with other machinery, such as excavators, tracked machines, tractor parts and dozers, also going under the hammer.

The sale, which was managed by Wilson Auctions, began at 11am and bidding was open to both physical and online bidders.

100% clearance rate

The auction proved a huge success, achieving a 100% clearance rate, with over 1,000 people participating in the sale across Ireland, the UK and internationally.

All lots were sold as seen on the day with each item subject to VAT at 23%.

In addition any lots sold at €1,000 or less were subject to 10% commission with VAT at 23% to be added to that price.

Lots which sold at over €1,001 were subject to 5% commission followed by VAT at 23%.

A 1991 Ford 8630 4wd tractor gathered plenty of interest on the day, going under the hammer for €13,500.

This 2003 Hitachi EX165 excavator on very wide tracks and a long jib (reach) makes it suitable for working in bogs or cleaning drains in difficult places. It sold for €18,500.

This 1999 Massey Ferguson 4225 4wd tractor on dual wheels ideal for travelling on wet ground sold for €8,400.

This 1998 Fiat/New Holland tractor made €13,500.
