The National Ploughing Association Innovation Arena is the perfect place to launch new innovations and this year, Irish Farmers Journal readers can vote for their favourite innovation in the People’s Choice category.

The NPA Innovation Arena puts inventions from Ireland on show to the world and helps establish their success by introducing them to the marketplace and facilitating networks that will help them take steps towards achieving commercial success.

In the build-up to this year’s Ploughing championships, each day we profile four of the innovators.

Acorn Agricultural Research

Acorn Agricultural Research specialises in the provision of high-quality quantitative and qualitative market research and data collation services for state research agencies and the private sector. It specialises in farm surveys and data collation to give insights for Ireland’s agricultural industry.

Aerial Agri Tech

Aerial Agri Tech’s objective is to provide high resolution spatial and temporal data across a range of markets.

The services provide industries such as agriculture and forestry with crop health, productivity and composition data in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Agrinet

AgriNet has been helping its dairy and dry stock clients make the right management decisions for more profitable farming since 1994.

It is showcasing its newest innovation – Cashminder – at the Ploughing that makes it easier for farmer to carry out the all-important cashflows for their farm.

Agrispeed Ltd

Agrispeed has developed round bale handling apparatus, which is attached to the rear of the agricultural tractor.

The device helps reduce damage to the round bale protective plastic wrapping. The inclusion of powered tipping control increases speed of collecting and tipping of bales.

A bale clamp adds to safety and stops bales hopping off when you hit the bumps.
