On 13 July, Irish Draught owners and supporters attended the launch of the 32nd Irish Draught Horse Society National Breed Show. This year the show makes its return to the west of Ireland and will be held in the Ballinasloe Showgrounds on 4 August.

Irish Draught Horse Society chair Seán McGuirk gave a brief history of the Irish Draught and spoke about the need to preserve the breed. MEP Maria Walsh said a few words before handing over to Councillor Dermot Connolly.
