There was a changing of the (Irish) guard in the European young farmer association, CEJA, this week.

Former Macra president, Alan Jagoe, finished his term as CEJA president after two years at the helm of the Brussels-based organisation.

Jannes Maes from Belgium is now the new president of CEJA.

Another former Macra na Feirme president, Seán Finan, was elected as vice-president of CEJA, the European young farmers’ organisation.

He is one of four vice-presidents, with the other three hailing from the Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic.
