While it is an island, it does have direct access to the mainland, so it is not completely cut off. It is located approximately four miles from Downpatrick and 24 miles from Belfast city centre. Castle Ward Estate, which was a film location for Winterfell in Game of Thrones, is just a stone’s throw away.

Castle Island is for sale as a whole by private treaty. The sale is being handled by Savills. A spokesperson said that the property would appeal to an investor that enjoys the location or a farmer.
