Following the successful inaugural management development programme in January, Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association (ITBA) pledged to roll out similar workshops across the country. The next two in the series are taking place in Meath and Tipperary in August and will be delivered by Gateway Consulting. The workshops are being run in conjunction with the Local Enterprise Offices in Meath and Tipperary and with Horse Racing Ireland (HRI).

The workshops will cover a range of topics including: developing a business plan, management and leadership, succession and financial planning, communications and marketing, and much more.

The workshops are aimed towards those working in the Irish thoroughbred industry and aims to attract a range of participants, from young to established breeders, both flat and national hunt. The many challenges of 21st century thoroughbred production are ever changing and now more than ever, the importance of life-long learning cannot be underestimated.

ITBA’s Kerry Ryan said: “We are delighted to be partnering with both Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Meath and Tipperary on this educational initiative and we would like to thank both LEO’s for supporting and co-funding these workshops.”

The workshops cost €100 per person and will be delivered in three full-day sessions, commencing in Co Tipperary on Tuesday 6 August and in Co Meath on Wednesday 7 August and will thereafter take place on subsequent Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A one on one mentoring session will follow after the final group session. Spaces are limited early booking is essential. Contact ITBA HQ 045 877543 / kryan@itba.ie.
