Dairy

A range of dairy farmers are frequently paying up to €250/ac or more for good-quality grazing ground in areas where competition is high. Almost 75% of dairy farmers are paying over €200/ac for leased land, with over half of these paying more than €250/ac.

Beef

Sixty-one per cent of beef and suckler farmers are paying €170/ac or less for leasing land, with the typical lease circa €150/ac for good grazing ground. The competition from both young farmers and dairy means prices for beef farmers are getting higher.

Tillage

Farmers in the southeast were paying the highest prices for tillage ground, with €320/ac the top price seen. Eighty per cent of tillage farmers are paying over €200/ac for leasing ground. The drive from dairy has turned up the heat for tillage farmers looking for similar ground.
