There’s Something about Mairead
Backchat is a big fan of Nash 19 in Cork, so we were delighted to see Mairead O’Brien named best restaurant manager in Munster at the recent Restaurant Association of Ireland awards. Commended for her “great flair, natural ability and commitment”, Mairead grew up on a dairy and livestock farm in north Cork, where her family has a long tradition with Mitchelstown Creameries and the IFA. Mairead studied hotel and catering management in CIT and brings her love of the best of Irish food to Nash 19. Indeed, nothing gives her more pleasure than rambling into her polytunnel at home at the foot of the Galtees.
