Husqvarna Group is the world’s largest producer of everything from robotic lawnmowers to garden tractors, chainsaws and trimmers. The group’s products are sold via dealers and retailers to both amateur and professional users in 100 countries worldwide.
“All dealers in Ireland who supply our range are registered Husqvarna dealers. Currently there are 70 dealers registered nationwide,” explains Kevin Power, marketing manager at Husqvarna.
Husqvarna 2015
Recently, Husqvarna launched its extended version of the ride-on tractor range. The new range claims to be increasingly user-friendly, with features such as chokeless start, automatic transmission and a battery status indicator. The more premium models have keyless SmartSwitch™ ignition for easy starting and a RapidReplace™ tool-less blade removal system. There is a wide range of attachments available and a built-in choice of cutting methods.
Husqvarna tractors divide into two model groups. The premium models have a twin cylinder engine, a push-button ignition switch and LED headlights. The TC342 has the largest cutting deck available: 105cm (42 inches). These models are designed to handle steep inclines, large gardens and football pitches. All Husqvarna products come as standard with a two-year warranty when registered on their website.
Safety Features
“What makes this range unique and distinguishable from other products on the market is the increased safety features, such as the SmartSwitch™ electronic ignition which can’t be started unless someone is sitting in the seat and knows the PIN code.
“All the new 2015 tractors also have a blade guard that prevents children or anyone getting their hands accidentally caught in the blades when the engine is running. The blades also automatically cut off when the tractor reverses to avoid any potential circumstance where a child could be run over with the blades running.”
Popular Features
• Smart Switch™: “This is the perfect device for those that forget to take the keys out of the ignition when leaving their vehicle,” says Kevin. “A key-less operation system coupled with a personal code entry are needed to start the engine, with a one-touch start-and-stop button for convenience. A security lock is also in place to stop children from starting the engine. The tractor also won’t start if the operator is below a certain weight, again to stop children from starting the engine.”• RapidReplace™ blade system: “If using your tractor regularly, the blade can become worn. The new system allows for easy blade removal in a matter of minutes.” User-Friendly
“Our tractors have become increasingly user-friendly over the past number of years. All our ranges now have hydrostatic transmission, meaning our machines are all automatic. The fully automatic gearbox allows for plenty of user-friendliness.
“Although our products are more expensive than those of our competitors, it is features such as the SmartSwitch™, RapidReplace™ blade system and the U-Cut™ steering technology system, which allows for extra efficient mowing, that are worth paying more for,” explains Kevin.
The Future for Husqvarna
“So far, we have sold between 600 and 700 products in our garden tractor range. March is the month when things usual kick off for us as grass growth is much faster this time of year. Statistics for 2015 suggest that this will be a fantastic year for tractor sales and growth at Husqvarna. As part of the March promotion, we are giving away free FM radio earmuffs and battery chargers, which are essential for any seasonal machine, with every tractor purchased. The projected sales for 2015, based on demand this early in the season, are expected to reach in excess of 3,000 units,” concludes Kevin.
