3 Hail Mary’s – 27 and 28 December: 3 Hail Mary’s by Tommy Marren is playing at the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo on 27 and 28 December. Mary O’Toole, Mary O’Neill and Mary O’Brien have spent over 10 years together in the same nursing home and it’s now time for them to bid farewell to one another. It might be their last day together but they decide to celebrate it in style. There promises to be nostalgia, comedy and even a few sing-songs. Admission ranges from €22 to €25. Sinbad – 29-31 December: The Thurles Panto Society is back again in the Source Arts Centre in Thurles. The story will follow the adventures of Sinbad the Sailor as he travels the seven seas. Along his way he will come across all types of heroes and villains, rogues and rascals in his pursuit to find his one true love. The show promises to be an active performance which will entertain audiences of all ages. There might even be a song or two in there for good measure. Shows will be at 2pm and 7pm daily. Keith Barry Insanity Tour – 27 December: Keith Barry will kick off his tour in Breaffy House, Castlebar, Co Mayo on 27 December. The world’s leading TV hypnotist, mentalist and brain hacker will perform across Ireland until March. This show will feature mind-reading, escapology and magic experiments designed to shock, amuse and amaze. Keith plans to blur the lines between sanity and insanity and push boundaries, amazing even the most sceptical. Little Women – 27 December: The four March sisters come of age in post Civil War America. Little Women is based on the Novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott and is directed by Greta Gerwig. Starring in the film is Carlow’s own Saoirse Ronan, alongside Emma Watson, Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh, to name put a few of the star-studded cast. The film jumps back and forth in time and focuses more on the themes than narrative. The new adaption promises to concentrate on the sisters’ young adult lives, particularly after Meg, Jo and Amy leave their family home. It is rated PG.
