On the back of a record 2020, with sales up 15%, totalling €537m and a positive 2021 so far, Amazone has announced a number of new products, many of which will be showcased at Agritechnica early next year. Alongside updates in conventional tillage equipment, developments have mainly been centred around precision farming and shallow cultivation methods to meet the changing market expectations.

Tyrok 400 semi-mounted and Teres 300 mounted ploughs

Two new plough ranges were announced, the Tyrok 400 semi-mounted range and the Teres 300 mounted range. A number of features are shared between both.

The Tyrok 400 is available in seven-, eight- and nine-furrow combinations, suiting tractors up to 400hp. Its main beam (dimensions 200 x 150 x 10mm)is built using high tensile tubular steel.

A new SmartTurn turning system is designed to exert low levels of stress on the plough beam by slowing down the nine second hydraulic turnover cycle just before it finishes.

As standard the Tyrok comes with mechanical width adjustment or as an option, hydraulic width adjustment.

Being a semi-mounted plough, it can be optionally equipped with traction control for reduced slippage. In this case, another hydraulic cylinder transfers weight to the rear axle of the tractor.

The Tyrok semi-mounted plough is available in seven, eight and nine furrows.

The Teres 300 mounted range is available in four-, five- and six-furrow models to suit tractors up to 300hp. The Teres 300 V and VS is fitted with infinitely variable hydraulic working width adjustment and front furrow adaption as standard. From the cab, this allows the operator to vary furrow width from 33cm to 55cm.

The 150 x 150 x 8.8mm centre beam is said to provide rigidity while being lightweight. The 130mm hollow turnover shaft features two identical bearings for durability purposes.

Shared features

The new AutoAdapt automatic front furrow adjustment automatically adjusts the front furrow when the overall working width has been changed.

According to Amazone, AutoAdapt has a positive effect on fuel consumption as the pull line and angle between the plough and lower link cross shaft does not change.

Working depth is adjusted either mechanically or hydraulically via the support wheel on both models. The standard hydro-pneumatic suspension of the support wheel on the Tyrok 400 ensures maximum driving comfort and safety on the road.

Instead of the standard shearbolt protection (6,200kg break strength), hydraulic overload protection is available which sees trigger force decrease proportional to lift height. Trip forces of up to 2,000kg can be infinitely adjusted either centrally or separately on each individual body.

The new SpeedBlade range of plough bodies feature a patented extra-large front shin for minimal wear on the main mouldboard. Therefore, only the front shin will need replaced initially. A selection of different slatted and solid bodies are available.

Both ranges are available with swivel press arms for simultaneous reconsolidation.

The Teres 300 mounted plough range is available in four-, five- and six-furrow models.

Cobra-2TX shallow cultivator

New to the shallow range of cultivators is the Cobra-2TX, available in 6m and 7m working widths. Designed to work at depths ranging from 4cm to 13cm, it is said to be best suited for catch crop changeover or seedbed preparation.

The Cobra-2TX features six staggered tine rows with close spacing of 13.3cm so that residues can be evenly distributed and incorporated into the soil. The firm says that the vibration of the Eco leaf springs produces a large amount of fine soil for optimum volunteer germination conditions.

Various different 220mm wide goose foot shares are available alongside 50mm narrow share for mid-deep mixing and loosening work. Both share types are available in a HD variant.

A rear levelling toolbar can be added, made up of spring-mounted drag tines. In situations where there is too much organic matter the toolbar can be raised out of working position.

The following rollers integrated into the tine segment help for accurate following of the ground’s contours and determines working depth along with the support wheels. Alternatively, where the following roller is not being used, depth adjustment is carried out via the transport wheels in addition to the front support wheels. Tines are mounted directly behind transport wheels to loosen any tracks produced.

Up to 10 roller types can be chosen. As an alternative, a double harrow can be optioned on the 6000-2TX and 7000-2TX.

A front knife roller can be optioned which is best suited for cutting stubble and catch crops. A hydraulic crushboard can also be optioned for the breaking up of clods and aiding the levelling process.

The trailed 6m Cobra-2TX is expected to arrive for summer of 2022 with the trailed 7m model not arriving until spring 2023.

The Cobra-2TX will be available in 6m and 7m working widths.

TopCut tool carrier

Amazone has started a project to accommodate the increasing requirement for ultra-shallow tillage.

Earlier this summer, the first TopCut 12000-2 12m tool carrier entered the trial fields. The TopCut consists of three tool segments that can be equipped with various different tools to suit user requirements. The toolbar may include a single knife roller, a crushboard or discs. A combination of wavy discs, and knife rollers could also be used. In dry conditions, soils can be consolidated using a rear roller. Depending on its use, a three-row straw harrow can be used to scatter both straw and the remaining grains.

More machines will be built in 2022 and feature various tool combinations. A TopCut tool carrier will be on show at Agritechnica.

The TopCut tool carrier is designed to chop residues and create stale seedbeds.

UX 7601 Super and UX 8601 Super

The UX 7601 Super and UX 8601 Super are two completely new trailed sprayers. With maximum respective tank capacities of 8,000l and 9,000l, the new models claim compact dimensions and a low centre of gravity.

Both sprayers feature a newly developed forward sloping frame for improved weight distribution. The one-piece frame and drawbar have a total maximum permissible weight of 14t. Both rigid and steering axles (up to 28°) are available. A further option is hydro-pneumatic axle suspension.

The polyethylene tank has smooth inner walls with no nooks or crannies to leave cleaning difficult. Models are equipped with piston diaphragm pumps, a 250l/min spray pump and a 350l/min agitation pump. This latest generation pump can be either PTO or hydraulically driven.

Both models can be equipped with the optional HighFlow+ system to maximise work rates at wider boom widths and higher working speeds. Both pumps can be used together for application rates of up to 400l/min.

On the left hand side of the sprayers is the SmartCenter which includes the 60l induction hopper. Three levels of operating system are available for the SmartCenter.

In addition to the manually operated Standard Pack, a Comfort-Pack with the TwinTerminal 3.0 touch terminal includes automated filling and cleaning programs as well as automatic fill stop for suction and bowser filling. Auto-dynamic agitator regulation is also available.

The UX 7601 Super and UX 8601 Super trailed sprayers feature a new frame design with a lower centre of gravity.

KE 02 Rotamix power harrows

The KE 02 power harrow range has been extended, now encompassing working widths of 3m, 4m and 6m for tractors ranging between 240hp and 400hp.

As well as greater working widths, the KE 02 harrows feature the Rotamix system. The DirectDrive gearbox keeps things simple with no redirection of power. The gearbox has four tool carriers per metre meaning spur gears are kept small in diameter for robustness. The 3m and 4m machines can be operated at 540, 750 and 1,000rpm while the 6m machine can only be operated at 1,000rpm.

Its compact design and QuickLink system leaves coupling with a seed drill easy. The harrow features the tried and tested Quick+ Safe tine system which sees the 290mm tines easily exchanged without the need for tools.

The optional hydraulic depth control is a new feature, allowing the harrow to be set from the cab. The KE 02 features a DirectDrive gearbox therefore there is no power redirection.

The KE 02 power harrow range now features 3m, 4m and 6m working widths.

Ceus-TX and Cenius cultivators

Two new models of the trailed Ceus disc and tine cultivator have been added. The Ceus 3000-TX (3m) and Ceus 4000-TX (4m) designed for tractors starting at 150hp.

The combination of discs and tines means that the Ceus is ideally suited for chopping and mixing straw, stubble or catch crops. The front cutting discs are available in smooth and serrated versions. The following tines have spacings of 40cm and are designed to incorporate organic matter, working down to depths of up to 30cm. The option of hydraulic depth adjustment is available.

Aside from the wide range of C-Mix shares there are a number of C-Mix tines to choose from. The C-Mix Super tines feature a pressure spring overload system or as an option the C-Mix Ultra tines can be optioned which feature an automatic hydraulic overload. Trip force can be adjusted up to 800kg.

Following is a set of levelling tools, which can be equipped with smooth or serrated discs or spring tine levellers. Eleven rollers and various rear harrow options are available for final consolidation.

Amazone has also the option of C-Mix Ultra tines with hydraulic overload protection and C-Mix shares for its Ceus-2TX trailed cultivators (4 to 8m) and the Ceus-2TX trailed disc & tine combination cultivators (4 to 7m).
