Turkish tractor manufacturer Basak took the wraps off its new flagship model, the 5165 Red Power, at Agritechnica. The new model is a big step up from the previous top two models, namely the 3.5-litre four-cylinder Deutz powered 5115 (119hp) and 5120 (122hp).
Powered by a 6.1l Deutz TCD L06 engine, it offers 163hp which tops out at 170hp. The engine is married up with a powershift 30F x 15R electro-hydraulic power shuttle, while it also comes with the option of a 54F x 27R creeper box. The RC Shift transmission can be driven in manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic modes, with a top speed of 50km/h.
The refreshed exterior styled tractor is kitted out with a 120l/min hydraulic system, with four spools on the rear and two on the front, with electric spools as standard. The rear links have a 9,560kg lift capacity while the optional front linkage has a 3.5t lift capacity.
Weighing in at 7,770kg, the tractor features four PTO speeds (540-540E-1000-1000E).
Standard features include a sunroof, cab suspension, an air compressor, a hydraulic top link and a cooler box. Optional extras include a stop/start system, heated electric mirrors, a rear window heater, a rear-view camera and a quick steering system.
Series production is scheduled for November 2026, while no pricing has yet been set. The new model signals Basak’s ambition to move beyond its traditional smaller-to-mid-power offerings, with more powerful models in the pipeline.
