The Cooney Furlong Machinery Company, the Irish importer of the Austrian-built Goweil machinery range, will exhibit the manufacturer’s unique combination baler wrapper alongside a Goweil RGB softhands bale handler.
The baler in question is the new Version 14 G-1 F125 Kombi, offered with a full specification list, including Auto Flow Control, swivel pickup wheels, hydraulic drawbar, bale tipper and a dual binding unit.
The latter system has the ability to wrap the finished bale simultaneously using two net rolls or films. It has the option of using the dual film-binding unit as a single binding unit, such as one net roll and with one roll of film.
The G-1 F125 Kombi features a 2.2m camless pick-up, equipped with a pendulum suspension, creating a swing range of 150mm. Fitted with six tine bars and plastic strippers, it has a tine spacing of 51mm. The chopping unit is fitted with 30 knives.
There are two crop press rollers, one of which is mechanically driven to help pre-compress the crop before being presented to the rotor and knife bank. The 570mm rotor is positioned very closely behind the pickup.
The Auto Flow Control (AFC) feature monitors the flow of crop and intervenes automatically in the event of a blockage. The top door above the knives opens, the knives rise out of the working position, allowing the blockage/lump to pass through before resuming their previous position.
The chopping unit is positioned above the rotor meaning crop has to pass over the rotor as opposed to under it. This leaves knife maintenance much easier, of which there are 30 double-sided knives, capable of chopping down to 35mm.
Goweil prides itself for its premium build quality throughout, an example of which is its 18 ribbed chamber roller, constructed from 4mm steel with inner reinforcement. Instead of duplex chain drives, Goweil opts for a triplex setup for its main rotor drive.
The Kombi also features a hydraulic weight transfer system on its rear axle. When engaged, it places more weight on the rear axle to increase the tractors drawbar weight and thus traction in difficult conditions.
Soft hands
The RGB soft hands is available in two sizes; the RGB 160 for bales from 1.1m to 1.6m in diameter and the RGB 140 for bales from 0.8m to 1.4m in diameter. The unit is designed to offer a gentle but secure grip on all round bales by distributing even pressure.
Elsewhere, on the Cooney Furlong Machinery Company stand, there will be a BTGHY roller bale handler with bale spike conversion kit, a MS100 knife sharpener complete with cooling unit and a Goweil bale fork.
Representing the Case IH brand, the Wexford-based dealer will display a Farmlift 633 telehandler, Puma 165 and 260 models and an Optum 300 with a Case IH LB436HD high-density square baler.
