Pöttinger has developed a jockey wheel for its rakes called the Multitast system. The Multitast wheel is located just in front of each rotor, close to where the tines contact the ground.
According to Pöttinger, the tines are guided over the terrain, considerably reducing contact with the ground. The company claims that this ensures optimum protection for the rotor cam unit, tines and sward.
Pöttinger also claims that top raking quality can be delivered at speeds of up to 15km/h.

Harvesting machinery in the next pass can achieve higher performance because the swaths are intact and can be picked up more efficiently – a major contributor to increasing productivity.
A DLG test with the Pöttinger Top 762 C centre-swath rake showed that the Multitast gave 25% less raw ash/contamination in the forage crop when harvested.
Up to 2.3% more raw ash means up to 207kg dirt/ha, according to results from the DLG test.
