Adrian has incorporated a water ballast system into what looks like a solid front weight and a high pressure pump into the design. Called the Hydropac 600, the unit, fully loaded with 300 litres of water ballast, weighs 600kg.

It is designed to provide front ballast weight for larger tractors for use in field cultivations as well as slurry and silage work.

The Hydropac comes with 20 metres of high pressure hose, a retractable reel, hydraulic drive and variable pressure lance, all of which is dip galvanised and painted.

The unit costs €3,200 plus VAT and can be fitted to a range of different tractor models. Adrian said, “You can vary the unit weight, by adding or removing water, therefore saving on unnecessary tyre wear.” With the hydraulically driven high pressure water pump fitted, the unit allows the operator to wash down and disinfect machinery in the field. This is without compromising the rear hitch, linkage or pto.

It provides a useful method of cleaning machinery before taking to the road and can be used as part of a farm disease prevention policy.
