Czech machinery manufacturer SMS CZ, best known in Ireland for its range of tillage equipment, is introducing a new self-loading bale transporter.
The new Porto V18 is capable of loading and transporting up to 18 round bales.
The new self-loading transporter is structurally based on the earlier Porto V15 model, but it can transport three more bales for a total of 18.

SMS noted that its new Porto V18 has been designed to meet all European regulations.

Bale collection and loading are carried out by a hydraulically controlled handler that is driven underneath the bale and performs a single operation to place it on to the loading platform.
The platform is equipped with a hydraulic ram that pushes three loaded bales at a time toward the rear of the machine, freeing space for the next bales.
Unloading is done by sliding the bales off the platform using the ram.
The company explained that the machine has been developed off the back of farmer requests for a more powerful and efficient bale transport solution.
The firm has planned a market launch for mid-2026.
