A new, compact, six-cylinder 150hp Case IH Maxxum equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is set to hit the market. This new model will be offered alongside the well-established four-cylinder 145hp Maxxum CVX and other smaller Maxxum models. Until now, the range only featured four cylinder engines.
The 150 CVX features a 6.7l FPT engine with Case's patented Hi-eSCR selective catalytic reduction. A maximum power of 175hp is projected from the six cylinder variant – the same max power as the 145hp model, though, having greater torque of 740Nm at 1,500rpm.
Despite the different engine configuration, the 5,137mm wheel base remains the same, with the six-cylinder version weighing in at 5,020kg (unladen) – just 130kg heavier than the four-cylinder. The CVX transmission allows the tractor to work at a set engine or forward speed, altering either one independently. Uninterrupted power flow allows for full tractive power throughout the whole speed range. Other transmission choices are the ActiveDrive 4 four step semi powershift and the recently-launched ActiveDrive 8 eight step semi-powershift transmission, available from early 2019.

The CVX model also comes equipped with Automatic Productivity Management (APM). All Maxxum models as well as the 150 come AFS ready, meaning it is easily compatible with AccuGuide automated steering.
