Ronan O’Donnell’s 1969 David Brown 780 Selectamatic was bought in Wales in 2008 and restored the following year.
Nuffield tractors are always well represented at the Tractor World Show and this year was no exception. The 10/42 and 10/60 tractors shown superseded the 3/42 and 4/60 models respectively in 1964 and were fitted with a ten-speed high/low gearbox.
Two of the most colourful Ford tractors on display were these 871 (left) and 641 (right) models owned by Denis and James Linehan.
As usual, there were numerous County tractors on exhibit at the Tractor World Show, including this restored 1164.
This 1953 Fordson Major E1A owned by Frank Jenkinson was one of the most original looking tractors at the show.
The event is organised by Fota Island Vintage Club and the Cork branch of the Ford and Fordson Association. All profits made are donated to St Patrick’s Hospital Marymount Hospice, Co Cork.
I attended the show on the first day of the event to find a nice selection of both original and fully restored tractors on display. The pictures here are a sample of the many interesting machines on exhibit.
