Cheffins hosted an auction of over 80 classic and vintage tractors on Saturday last, 2 April, in Newry, Northern Ireland, with a 1963 DOE Triple-D fetching £54,000 (€64,705) plus commission and VAT.
Peter Thomas Keaveney caught up with Roscommon machinery enthusiast Owen Hester, who recently completed a 12-month-long restoration project on a Fiat 110-90.
A Mullingar auction attracted bidders from across Ireland and overseas, with several immaculately restored Fords taking centre stage including a 7810 and an 8210, both scooping €33,500 each.
English buyers scooped up a number of collectable Ford and Fordson tractors at a machinery clearance auction which recently took place at the Corrin Event Centre in Cork.
With 130 lots up for grabs, it will be a trio of mint restored Ford workhorses that will take centre stage at a midlands machinery auction this Saturday 18 December.
Cheffins fourth and final vintage collective sale of 2021 recently took place. The top-priced tractor lot was a 1964 Roadless Ploughmaster 6/4 which sold for £42,400 (€49,959).
