There was great turnout of vintage tractors and machinery at the 17th Innishannon Steam and Vintage Rally held outside the Co Cork village last weekend.
The tractor collections on their own attracted a huge audience, even if the steam engines dominated the atmosphere with the smell of coal smoke.
The Innishannon committee has been hugely generous in its 17-year support of the Irish Cancer Society. In that time, they have contributed more than €1.2m to this important charity.

The weather on both days helped the event attract the crowds, which were up from last year’s numbers.
The highlights of the event included the slow engine race, obstacle course races for tractors and steam engine plus sheepdog trials, all in the main arena. Here we give a flavour of the event with the emphasis on the tractor displays.
