MartBids, the Irish Farmers Journal online bidding platform, celebrates its second birthday this week. The first animal was purchased on the platform this week in May 2020 in Central Auctions in Roscrea.
Since then, 1.2m animals have been sold on the platform for a value of just under €750m.
It will go down as one of the biggest technology revolutions in Irish agriculture and it took place over a few months in spring/summer 2020.
