The McCormick X8.680, the largest tractor that the company manufactures, is set to make its Irish debut at the FTMTA Farm Machinery Show.
The X8 tractor range is made up of three models. Each of these models are powered by the new 6.7 litre, six-cylinder Betapower engine with eVGT turbocharger and common rail injection system.
This engine meets Stage4/Tier4 Final emission regulations using a Hi-SCR catalytic converter in combination with a DOC catalyst for exhaust gas after-treatment. The X8.680 that will be in Punchestown is capable of churning out a significant 310hp (228kW).
This 10.8t tractor is equipped with a VT-Drive continuous variable transmission. This CVT transmission will automatically select the most suitable gear ratio allowing seamless speed progression without the need to shift gears.
The hydraulic system on the X8 Series features up to six rear-mounted remote valves with a total flow of 140l/min. All hydraulic functions are controlled electronically and can be configured via a touch screen monitor.
X7 Series
McCormick will also be showcasing its new four-cylinder X7 Series P6-Drive tractor at the show. This range is a higher-spec tractor with maximum power outputs from 141hp to 176hp.
These tractors have a ‘power boost’ on all models and a new powershift transmission.
The X7 Series are powered by a 4.5-litre BetaPower FPT Industrial engine. The Series comes with the option of two different transmission options, namely the P6-Drive (powershift) to Efficient and Premium specification and the VT-Drive Premium (CVT) to Premium spec with control armrest, Isobus and precision farming options.
