When did you set up your business and why?

I set up Frames of Ireland about eight months ago, with the vision of connecting people around the world to Ireland in a unique and sustainable way.

I believe we live in one of the most amazing places in the world - the culture and the Irish people are something I feel we need to recognise and cherish.

Our prints are the perfect way to capture or remember a special occasion in Ireland.

Our personalised maps of Ireland are a unique way of telling a story, whether it be your hometown, your family heritage, the place you met your partner and many more.

I wanted them to be fresh and modern, with fonts that are less traditionally Celtic to appeal to a broader audience.

Can you explain your process?

My team and I have built custom software to create the personalised maps. This software allows our customers to create totally unique maps specific to their journey or family heritage.

We are big believers in ethical business and this is why we have partnered with a fulfilment company. Our fulfilment company streamlines our operations and fulfils our orders in an environmentally-friendly manner.

For example, if an order comes through from a customer in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, a printing company in Atlanta fulfils the order to our specifications. This has positive effects in regards to the environment and also improved shipping times.

What is your best seller?

Our best seller is the personalised map of Ireland. This is a totally unique product which cannot be created anywhere else and our customers just love it.

The company's best seller is the personalised map of Ireland.

Everyone has a place or places that are personal to them and this is a way to connect to them and bring back memories every time you see it hanging on the wall.

What is it about your business that brings you joy?

It sounds clichéd, but I love creating something unique, which puts a smile on someone’s face. Hearing all the positive feedback from our customers is what keeps me going and keeps us motivated here at Frames of Ireland.

What are your hopes for 2023?

Our hopes for 2023 are quite simple - to continue to grow our business across our three main markets: Ireland, United Kingdom and the US.

What advice would you give to another start-up business?

Find something unique that you are passionate about and carry out some research to see if people are willing to buy it. Ensure you are providing your customer with a lot of value and you will have a customer for life.
