The Royal Ulster Premier Beef & Lamb Championships at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, Lisburn on Tuesday saw the junior female Limousin calf champion realise the highest price of £19,000 at the sale.

Exhibited by Arthur and Alise Callaghan from Kilkeel, the heifer is sired by Ballinaloan Jaegarbomb and out of a pedigree Belgian Blue dam.

The Supreme Championship and Allam’s Cup was claimed by a Charolais heifer, ‘Sadie,’ exhibited by the McKenna family from Clogher.

The December 2024-born home-bred heifer, which weighed 590kg, later sold for £17,500.

Lambs

The sheep section saw huge numbers of entries across 17 classes.

The best butcher pair was awarded to Christopher McCrea from Strabane for his commercial lambs, which later went on to sell for £800 per head.
