“Demand was strong in both rings especially for stores and weanlings, while beef trade remains steady,” said mart manager Brian McKeown.
The top-priced weanling at the sale was a February 2025-born 496kg Charolais which sold for £2,120 (427p/kg). The top price per kg price was the 644p/kg paid for a June 2025-born Charolais weighing 256kg at £1,650.
This Simmental young bull, born 16 September 2024, weighed 416kg and sold for £1,670 (401p/kg).
With the current beef trade remaining steady, the demand for cows was solid, with prices peaking at £2,860 for an August 2020-born 900kg Limousin at 317p/kg, while a June 2023-born Limousin at 630kg made £2,470 (392p/kg).
Standout prices were paid for Charolais-bred steers, with a 660kg animal, born May 2024, at £2,840 (430p/kg), while a June 2024-born steer weighing 680kg made £2,890 (425p/kg).
Store bullocks consistently made strong prices across the sale, with a May 2024-born Limousin weighing 485kg at £2,320 (478p/kg), while a June 2024-born 500kg Limousin made £2,280 (456p/kg).
