Limousin breeders from the northeast region hosted an online timed auction of breeding females over the weekend through Ballyjamesduff Mart and MartEye.
Labeled the Limo Lassies, the sale consisted of 12 females from some of the region's leading herds.
Trade was brisk for certain lots, with a number of sale entries failing to meet their reserves, resulting in a 50% clearance and a sale average of €6,200.
Topping the trade at €12,400 was Brackan Alice ET from the herd of Padraig Gormley.
Just nine months old, Alice is a daughter of the acclaimed Derrygullinane Kingbull and Esker-Hill Karen ET, which has bred exceptionally well, producing numerous prizewinners across the country and went to auction with a five-star terminal index of €161.
After some frantic online bidding, she eventually found a new home in Co Westmeath.

Hitting €5,200 was the December 2024-born Ballinascraw Vogue for John and Stephen Lynch. A daughter of the muscle machine Claddagh McCabe ET, this prizewinner from the summer shows was knocked down to a herd in Co Meath.
On Saturday, the club held a young handlers workshop in Ballyjamesduff Mart to run in conjunction with the sale. Over 40 young breeders attended, learning everything from clipping and grooming to showing.
