The Radney Proven Protein Sale returned to the home farm of the O’Keeffe family in north Cork on Saturday 20 September.

Conducted by Denis Barrett through Kanturk mart, it was met with a strong demand, achieving a 100% clearance for the 46 females on offer.

Trade topped at €7,000 for Radney Swish Odetta 2362, boasting an EBI of €273 and four generations of over 3.89 protein.

Following closely behind at €6,800 was Radney Art Odetta ET 2307 with an EBI of €251 and Radney Praser Odetta 2338 carrying an EBI of €239 at €6,400.

The spring in-calf heifers were a flying trade with eight heifers making over €5,000, with one autumn in-calf heifer selling for €4,800. The 34 spring in-calf heifers averaged €4,693.

The 11 spring 2025-born calves averaged €2,373, with Radney Starmaker Odetta 2486 displaying an EBI of €258 achieving €3,800 and Radney Tolean Odetta 2506 trading at €3,100, with three additional calves selling for over €2,000.
