This Friday evening the 11 July at 7pm Tullow Livestock Mart is set to host the Shanavagoon Charollais major reduction sale on behalf of James Walsh.
The sale is made up of 15 stock ewes, eight shearling ewes and two shearling rams from the Shanavagoon flock. There will also be a guest consignment of five quality ewe lambs from Frank and Cathal Jordan of the Ballinaslee flock.
The Shanavagoon flock was set up by James in 2005 with the purchase of five ewes from Jean Smith and the sale includes 20 years of top breeding. Included in the sale are many highlight lots from the flocks show team, including lot four a Bawnard bred ewe that was the overall reserve all Ireland champion in 2019. Lot 15 is another very notable ewe and James describes her as his pick of the ewe consignment. She is originally an NI import from the well-known flock Artnagullion flock.
