On Saturday 6 June, the North East Texel Club will host an Opening Evening on the farm of Michael and John Donohoe, Co Cavan, A82HW95, to celebrate the breed’s 50 year anniversary.
This exciting event marks one of the first gatherings to officially launch the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Irish Texel Sheep Society, making it a very special occasion for members and breeders alike.
Taking place from 3-6pm, the evening promises to be a fantastic social event, packed with valuable insights and activities, including; stock judging led by Alex Clarke and Michael McHugh, show preparation demonstration by Aaron McPhilips, meal feeding for showing talk by Samuel Richie and a mineral nutrition guide from Mark O’Rourke, Growvite.
The event will also feature a BBQ and music, coupled with the renowned hospitality of Texel breeders, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone attending.
Social media sensation Annie McGuinness will also be in attendance with her pet lamb, Grá. With an excellent line-up of speakers and demonstrations, it’s set to be an informative and memorable evening for all involved.
