Forget about the Rose of Tralee festival, the place to be last Saturday night was the Alley Bar in Kanturk, Co Cork, which hosted the summer barbecue for the hard-working staff at North Cork Creameries.
The night was billed as “a great evening of food, drinks and good company, as we celebrate and thank everyone for their hard work and dedication”, according to the posters put up around the factory.

The Dealer presumes that the celebration is due to the fact that the plant got its EPA discharge license back.

Trouble is far from over for North Cork Creameries. A meeting of suppliers is scheduled for the coming days and it’s expected to be a fiery affair.
The Dealer understands co-op management are going to ask the disgruntled suppliers who handed in their notice to rescind the termination letters.
It’s thought the co-op can’t secure the necessary bank funding, given there are 70 suppliers waiting to jump ship next March.
Meanwhile, shareholders are still waiting for a date for the AGM to be announced and for the 2025 annual report to be published.
