DeLaval’s servicing and dealership structure in Ireland is set to undergo some changes in the coming year.
The company has recently established a new dealership, Agri Automate, in Athlone, Co Westmeath, which the Irish Farmers Journal understands is owned by DeLaval.
The new dealership is aimed at providing milking machine services, sales and after sales support to farmers.
According to DeLaval, the new central location will be servicing farms in the midlands and west regions.
A spokesperson for DeLaval confirmed that existing dealer services may be affected by the change.
“Our service offering in certain areas may undergo a slight adjustment to better meet evolving customer needs, but this will only be effective as of summer next year,” the spokesperson said.
There are currently two privately-owned DeLaval agents operating in the west of Ireland, Portumna Farm Services and Galway Dairy Services Ltd.
It is not yet clear how many existing DeLaval dealers, if any, will be affected by the company’s plans.
