Liquid Gas Ireland (LGI) will publish a new industry strategy titled Delivering Net Zero for Rural Ireland – Pathways to Renewable Liquid Gas this Tuesday, 16 September.
The strategy will be launched as part of a panel discussion at 12:15 p.m. in the Irish Farmers Journal stand (Block 4, Row 11, Stand 239) at the National Ploughing Championships.
The report will set out a clear, evidence-based approach for a transition to 100% renewable liquid gas in line with Ireland’s net-zero target.
It will document the multiple supply and production routes that need to be considered to accelerate renewable supply and consumer uptake, including unlocking domestic production aligned with biomethane and hydrogen policy.
The report will also outline the opportunities and policy mechanisms required to deliver on this ambition.
Panel
Alan Farrell, LGI Senior Director for Government Affairs & Policy, will launch the report at the stand.
Farrell will then join a panel discussion on how this ambition should be positioned within Ireland’s wider renewable energy transition strategy, alongside Barry Cowen, Fianna Fáil MEP for Midlands–North-West, and Barry Caslin, Teagasc Energy & Rural Development Specialist.
