Watch: three acres of hay lost in Kildare field fire

Kildare fire services attended the scene of a fire in a field of hay which occurred at Tomard, Athy, Co Kildare, on Saturday 11 July.

Fire brigades from Athy and Stradbally Fire services were on scene from approximately 3pm to 5.15pm.

The fire service used a combination of beaters, backpack sprayers and hose lines to extinguish the fire, Niall O’Riordan chief fire officer with Kildare County Council told the Irish Farmers Journal.

“There is no indication as to the cause of the fire,” he added.
