There are politicians who show their face for a few hours at the Ploughing. Then, there’s Luke Ming Flanagan.

The independent Midlands-North-West MEP booked a full stand in his own name for this year and next year (the next European election is in 2019).

The marquee is lined with posters featuring life-size photos of the MEP, his objectives on a range of issues from CAP reform to farmers’ generational renewal and the slogan: “Ploughing a furrow in the European Parliament.”

Luke Ming himself was on his feet all day, chatting to farmers and visitors.

“I didn’t understand enough about agriculture. I needed a story to tell,” the member of the European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee told the Dealer.
