It’s quite literally a case of selling the farm to raise the roof this month in Co Wexford as a 21ac organic farm at Nicharee, Duncormick is set to go under the hammer to generate funds for a new church roof.
Donated to the parish by the Considine family, who have farmed the parcel for the past 70 years, the land underwent organic conversion 15 years ago and produces beef as well as oats on contract for Flahavans.
Comprising 8ac of grassland, 5ac of tillage and 8ac of forestry, the plot benefits from a reliable water supply and well-defined boundaries.
The farm also has good roadside access and may offer site potential for a one-off residential dwelling, subject to planning.
Guided at €165,000, the land will be auctioned online by Kehoe & Associates on Tuesday 29 September, with all proceeds going toward the construction of a new roof on the Church of the Assumption & St. Laurence O’Toole in Rathangan, Co Wexford.
