A man has been injured in an incident involving a van at the gates of the ABP plant in Cahir, Co Tipperary.

Gardaí are at the scene and emergency services have been called.

The injured man who was one of the protesters at the factory gate since morning.

The van drove through straw bales that had been placed at the entrance by the protesters.

Gardaí at the scene told the Irish Farmers Journal that the matter is under investigation.

He is conscious.

It is understood that CCTV footage of the incident is being sought by gardaí.
