The German tillage equipment manufacturer Rabe, is well known on the market for its cultivation equipment, especially ploughs and power harrows.

In July 2019, it is believed Rabe, owned by the Gregoire-Besson group, filed for bankruptcy. However, this wasn’t the first time the German manufacturer came under financial difficulty. The firm was believed to have found itself in a similar situation before it was bought by the French manufacturer Gregoire-Besson in 2011.

A recent statement released by the new owners stated that Rabe has been part of the Zoomlion group since May this year. According to the firm, production of Rabe equipment is to remain in Bad Essen (Germany) and investments are planned in production technology. The Chinese firm claims this will allow the business to become more economical and profitable. Production and the supply of spare parts is said to have resumed. Machines are believed to be sporting a more traditional Rabe livery, now painted the former dark blue colour. The raven is also said to have appeared back in logo.

Zoomlion is one of the world’s largest construction equipment manufacturers. Founded in 1992, its broad product range includes, cranes, forklifts, earth moving machinery, firefighting equipment, grain driers, combines, tractors and more. In 2019 the company had a total turnover of €5.6 billion. The firm showcased its tractor range at Agritechnica in 2015 however, they have not attended the German show since.

Zoomlion is set to present the Rabe range this month at China’s largest exhibition in Qingdao.
