After gentle prodding this week, two high-profile retailers, Aldi and Tesco, told me that they would be making ‘no comment’ on whether they would be increasing the butter prices on their shelves.
However, Tesco Ireland did tell me that commodity price increases and the impact of global demand can lead to price increases.
So you’re not not increasing the price then?

I’m expecting other retailers to get back to me on their prices soon. I dare say the response won’t be much different. As the price of butter on spot markets continues to sky-rocket, I questioned when it will begin to hit my pockets.
I do like my scones after all.
