Ronan Murphy has been appointed the new CEO of the Irish Limousin Cattle Society.

The appointment follows the stepping down of secretary of 12 years Paul Sykes back in November.

Murphy’s last role was CEO with Horse Sport Ireland, from which he stepped down from last September.

He held the role with the national governing body of equestrian sport in Ireland for three years.

Previous to this he spent time with Makeway Ltd, the Waterford-based agri-technology supply company, was CEO of Weatherbys Ireland for over two years and business manager with Hermitage pig genetics for 12 years.

Horse breeder

A horse breeder and competitor in both polo and show jumping disciplines, Murphy carries an honours degree in agriculture and a masters in equine reproductive physiology.

He will commence duties on 13 April.
