These were the only pen to break the €230/head mark, with all other hoggets between 55kg and 61kg selling between €220 and €228/head.
Mid-weight factory lambs weighing 50kg to 54kg sold from €200 to €220/head.
Light store hoggets from 38kg to 45kg sold from €151/head up to €172/head paid for quality-type ewe hoggets, with lots weighing 45kg to 50kg selling from €164/head to €210/head, with a premium paid for ewe hoggets.
Culls and breeders
A mixture of breeds and weights of cull ewes were on offer, with high prices being paid for heavy well-fleshed lots in excess of 70kg.
Top call in the culls was a pen of ewes weighing 108kg average, which sold for €274/head (€2.74/kg), with several lots of ewes achieving €2.30/kg to €2.50/kg with relative ease.
Lighter ewes lacking flesh still sold in the main from €2/kg to €2.20/kg.
