However, Gavin along with his teammate Hamish Mitchell were victorious in the teams final.

In the individual wool handling final, Hilary Bond of England finished ahead of Ronnie Goss of New Zealand.

While in the teams wool handling final, the honors went to Meinir Evans and Aled Jones of Wales.

And in the blade shearing competitions, Mayenzeke Shweni of South Africa took both the individual and team (along with his teammate Zweliwile Hans) titles.
