Offaly singer Simon Casey wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to compassion and outreach. His latest release, Let It Be Christmas, sees him teaming up with the Simon Community for this special fundraising venture.

Simon, who first came to national prominence on RTÉ’s You’re A Star series in 2007, has recorded a number of albums and singles over the last decade, including a duet with Ray Lynam.

His last album, On Song, was released to tie in with The Samaritans Christmas concert in the Franciscan Friary in Athlone in 2014.

The Army Band joined him for that special celebration night. Simon has enlisted the help of St Manchan’s choir from his native Ballycumber for his latest endeavour.

“Let It Be Christmas was a major song for American country singer Alan Jackson,” reflects Simon.

“We are getting a big response to it and I want to express grateful thanks to all the radio presenters who have been so generous with airtime for the song. The message of Christmas remains timeless and eternal and the spirit of goodwill always comes to the fore.”

Simon Casey’s single is this year’s official Simon Community Christmas single and it is now available to download from iTunes and all online stores as well as from selected music stores.
