Steyr is the latest of the three CNH industrial-owned tractor manufacturers to offer its compact tractor range with CVT (continuously variable transmission).

Last November at the EIMA show, New Holland showcased its T5 Auto Command range. Shortly after, Case IH unveiled its Versum CVX drive at SIMA in February.

The CVT Expert range was unveiled at a dealer meeting near Salzburg in Austria. The four-model range boasts 4.5 litre NEF power plants meeting Stage V standards. The rated powers available are 100hp (4100), 110hp (4110), 120hp (4210) and 130hp (4130), all offering a 10hp boost.

The two-range S-Control CVT transmission has been manufactured in-house, offering seamless acceleration from standstill to 40km/h. The transmission sees an eco-function and double clutch (DCT) technology. Active Hold Control is fitted as standard, which is claimed to ease starting and stopping on slopes.

Other features include 110l/min hydraulic flow pump with closed centre load-sensing hydraulics. Steyr claims the Expert’s large four-pillar cabin offers operators a pleasant working environment along with front axle and cab suspension for improved ride comfort.
