Teagasc has said it will launch its new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) service for farmers later in 2021.

The programme is currently being developed and is aimed at enabling farmers and others to continue to adapt to challenges and opportunities in the industry.

The new service has been introduced in line with the recommendations of the Education Vision Report, published by Teagasc in 2018.

The report identified that the provision of lifelong learning opportunities and a continuous professional development programme for active farmers will be a key element of Teagasc’s future knowledge exchange activities.

The initial scope of the project will be mainly focused on recognising the CPD being accumulated by farmers over time, within the ongoing range of courses and activities that many farmers are already doing.
