The Irish Pony show Jumping have been on a wave of sucess recently. They picked up their third Nations Cup victory in Hagan, Germany last weekend. They have already won two legs of the Nations Cup in Belguim and The Netherlands.

At the half-way point in the competition Gary Marshall’s team were in second place.

Francis Derwin and Cul Ban Mistress, owned Clive Swindel, recorded a double clear.

The Wachman brothers made up half of the Irish team and both recorded good results. Tom and Quaprice D’Astree had seven faults in the first round followed by clear round in the second round.

Max Wachman and the Coolmore Showjumping-owned Cuffesgrange Cavalidam jumped clear in the first round and lowered one pole in the second. Seamus Hughes Kennedy and Rock Dee Jay had total of 12 faults between the two rounds.

Ireland finished on 11 faults, just ahead of France on 12 faults.

Max Wachman also won the the 1.35 Junior Speed class on the opening day at Hagan with Cesha Old.

National eventing round-up

It was another busy weekend for Eventing Ireland. Glaslough held their first event of the season of Saturday.

The cross-country in the one star course proved impossible to make the time on. Winners of the CNC1* class, Leah Jackson and Gemily, posted one of the fastest rounds of the day, coming home 17 seconds over the optimum time.

Hollie Smith led the CNCJ1* division from start to finish and Rachel Keys won the Amature division.

The optimum time in the cross country was a lot more achievable in the EI100 classes.

Jonathon Steel posted a dressage score of 19.3 and a faultless double clear to win EI100 with Alland Mac U No.

Annaharvey in Co Offaly hosted Sunday’s event. Young rider Nessa Briody and Tom Boy made up for getting eleminated at Tattersalls International by winning the Connollys Red Mills SuperLeague O/CNC2*. Finishing with a fence in hand ahead of Jonathon Steele.

Colenomer, ridden by Andrew Turley, won the CNC1* class only two marks ahead of Jane O’Flynn riding Rolline O’Callaghan’s Mister Chance.

Catherine Robinson won the EI100 with River Lodge Equestrian owned- Greenhall Vivendi Cruz.
