More than 120 tractors took part in the Father Matt Ryan tractor run from Borrisoleigh to Rearcross in north Tipperary on Saturday.

Almost €20,000 was raised as the tractors travelled over 65km starting in Borrisoleigh just outside Thurles and then passing through Templederry, Dolla, and Silvermines before finishing in Rearcross.

In Borrisoleigh, drivers were greeted with music, light refreshments, and prayers to take them around the hills and valleys of north Tipperary.

Tractor drivers came from all over Tipperary to take part in the run.

All funds raised will be used for developing communities in Brazil, where Borrisoleigh and Templederry native Fr Matt Ryan is based.

A fundraising walk for the same cause is planned for New Year's Day, starting in Templederry at 11am with registration from 10.30am.
