The Irish Charolais Cattle society hosted its second Tullamore bull sale on Saturday, with prices hitting as high as €8,000.

Securing the top price was the last bull through the ring, Crossmolina Rambo.

This powerful 12-month-old bull was bred and exhibited by Alan Wood from Co Mayo.

Sired by Berry Mic, Rambo is from a line of top breeding cows, with the grandmother breeding Dovea Genetics bull Crossmolina Jupiter.

Securing the bull for his pedigree herd in Scotland was Stuart Barclay.

Taking home the second top price of the day at €6,900 was Cuillmore Ryan from Thomas Keane, Westport, Co Mayo. This March 2020-born bull is the famous cross of Doonally New and Pirate.

Brocca Powerful Genetics ET was next in line when he sold for €6,400.

Brought out by Westmeath breeder John Barry Moran, the November 2019-born bull was sired by Domino, with Jupiter in the back breeding.

Overall, 33 of the 54 bulls present sold to an average price of €3,547.
